For a month I tried to use Google Adwords only to spend lots of money by getting my ads slowed for lack of clicks. Then I learned this secret and was able to pay cash for a Jeep Cherokee only three days later!
Following these three simple steps, you will be able to greatly increase your click through rate and website traffic:
1.) Use Wordtracker to find your keywords. When you use Wordtracker for Google Adwords, you are looking for words that are searched for most often. My company offers custom logo design services so my keywords were "logo design, custom logo design, company logo design,and corporate logo design." These words may have lots of competition and a low KEI Analysis but that doesn't matter much when you are paying for the clicks.
2.) When you find your keywords, target one ad for each keyword you choose. When someone does a search, they are more likely to click on your Google ad if they see the exact keywords used. I took the above terms and wrote these 4 ads:
a. Logo Design Only $20
b. Custom Logo Design Only $20
C. Company Logo Design Only $20
d. Corporate Logo Design Only $20
People are more likely to click on your ad if they see the exact phrase they searched for
3.) Determine your best keyword rate. At first I thought that my ad had to be listed first to get any clicks. That meant that I had to pay more for clicks.
I played with the system and learned that I could decrease my keyword bid by $.10 and drop from 1st to 2nd and only lose 20 clicks per day. At 500 clicks per day, I was paying an extra $50 per day for those 20 clicks!
Try to stay in the top 8 if you can afford it but do not think that you have to be #1. Play with the Adwords Bidding system by lowering your bidrate just a little to see how many clicks it costs you. Find the magic number that makes your ad the most cost effective.
