There are many different pieces of search engine optimization that are important today, and one of the factors that continues to be prominent is the smart use of title tags.

Without doubt, title tags can make a substantial difference in the way your site competes for certain keywords.

When used in the right ways, you can help your site both appear higher in the results pages of the search engines while also enticing more people to click on your page and take a look at your offer.

In order to properly optimize the title tag of a money webpage, you first need to have the right keywords to start with.

Productive keywords are generally settled at the end of a detailed keyword researching campaigns.

The keywords you select should be consistently used on all areas of your page.

This means using them within the page's content, as well as in the title tag and other key locations as well.

The primary keyword that you select should be used as close to the beginning of your page's title as possible.

This word arrangement provides search engines with the first clue about the topic of your webpage.

Maybe the biggest asset for this arrangement lies in the fact that once it appears bolded in the SERPs, the keyword literally speaks with the visitor convincing him about the perfect match between his needs and your content.

The "precocious" usage of keywords is also dictated by a more techie reason; respectively the variable number of visible characters across different search engines.

Although the spectrum varies, a safe position to take is between sixty and sixty five characters. Google supports a maximum of 65 characters (spaces included).

That means you don't have any space to waste words or space.

Compose titles for humans and not primarily for search engines spiders. Expressed in a different light, concentrate on writing each page title tag as you would write an Adwords ad in a Pay per Click Campaign; see what works and what doesn’t and constantly improve it.

Your primary goals is to get the click.

Abandon the idea that keyword stuffing will render you thousands of ready to buy visitors.

Your title should be an actual sentence, phrase or description, and should not be a series of keywords separated by commas or dashes.

This will guarantee you don't smell like a spammer to either SE crawler or the person who sees your listing. Maintaining these common-sense standards will further increase the trust with search engines and customers.

Excessive use of keywords is a sure formula to rankings dropdown, especially if it occurs in sensitive page areas such as title and description tag.

Of course this is just the beginning of what you need to know about SEO, your title tags and how to pull everything together.

Let's face it, title tag shouldn't be your biggest SEO concern but, properly done it adds up. Just build it with a keen focus towards attracting click-thrus.

Nevertheless, top rankings require every onpage factor to be rigorously optimized and a big portion of your efforts should be channeled towards the page title.
